Sambat Darki Varghian was born in 1912 in Jolfa , Esfahan . he graduated from Esfahan college  . he also learned skills of painting from Armenian masters such as Hakoop Vartanian and Yaghia Valliganian and Sarkiss Khachaturian . in the year 1949 he went to England to study painting and got to know sir Villiam Rassel Flint an artist and a water colorist . Sambat in addition to being a famous water colorist , he has done some work in oil base painting , Gouache style and pastel .
